The Stonewall Brighton Equality Walk takes place on Sunday 3rd May 2009, and this year I am free to participate.
In previous years, I have always been working on the day of this fantastic event, and ironically, normally at Legends, Brighton, where the after walk party takes place.
This year, I shall participate in the walk and then will be performing as Lola Lasagne at Charles Street, Brighton at 7pm.

This year money raised will support Stonewall’s Education campaign to eradicate all forms of homophobic bullying in schools. Stonewall’s research has shown that two thirds of young lesbian, gay and bisexual pupils experience homophobia in schools. Specifically money you raise for the Brighton Equality Walk will allow Stonewall to produce a DVD of the highly acclaimed production of FIT, a bold new play about attempting to fit in and trying to stand out, in a culture where everything from not liking sport to wearing the wrong trainers is ‘gay’.

I am 40 this year and when I was at school, I was one of those children bullied and intimidated because of my sexuality. There were no organisations and campaigns like this one to help me and others like me, which is why I am proud to lend my support as myself and through my work as Lola Lasagne.
I have set myself a fairly modest total of money I wish to raise, but I need your help and donations to help achieve it.
