The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

On 16th September I am embarking on my biggest ever fitness challenge by far by cycling 325 miles from Yorkshire to London over three days. With encouraging support from the Finance Management Team at Barclays I have (regretfully) been unable to back out of this leisurely bike ride and therefore would be extremely grateful for any kind of donation big or small to raise money for one of the UK's greatest charities. If you would like to come along and support me (and I mean physical support by carrying me off my bike) we will be finishing at the Olympic Park on Friday 18th September.

Wheels for Change is an annual fundraising cycling challenge, led by Barclays colleagues to raise money for charity. This year, Wheels for Change is raising money for the Prince’s Trust, one of Barclays’ UK charity partners. The Prince’s Trust specifically focuses on 13 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed, struggling at school or at risk of exclusion. At Barclays we want to help the next generation achieve their ambitions. Our 5 Million Young Futures goal is our commitment to do this and by working with organisations like the Prince’s Trust we are able to support the next generation, helping them to build stronger futures for themselves and their families. This fundraising initiative will help to invest in the future; Barclays employees are invited to take part and to help us to support more young people to achieve their ambitions – this is what Citizenship at Barclays does.

Thank you in advance for all your support and I look forward to seeing you at the finish line if you (and I) can be there.

Wish me luck!
