We provide vital treatment, care & support to cancer patients and families in Wales

Story

My name is Sue Evans and I am 52 years of age and in November 2008 I was diagnosed with a form of Lung Cancer which is not caused by smoking. My husband is Huw Evans the Welsh Rugby Teams Official photographer. We have four children and have never been affected by Cancer in anyway so when I was diagnosed we were all devastated and in shock. After meeting the Cancer Consultant he told us that for some unknown reason more and more 'young' women are developing this form of the disease. Dr Lester is a wonderful man who doesn't want to just treat me for this incurable form of Cancer but wants to find out why this is happening. He has set up this fund so that he can fund research and hopefully come up with a cure. The Welsh Rugby Union and the Rugby Regions have been wonderful in their support and we hope not only the rugby community help us raising money to fund this research but everybody. We don't want you to be frightened into donating loads of money, JUST £1 will be so gratefully received. This money is not to help me although I feel wonderful when i see people's generosity . This money is for you so that if you are given the awful news that you have this form of Cancer the Doctor can just give you a tablet and it will go away.
