Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The week beginning 15 May 2011 is National Eosinophilic Awareness Week. APFED (a US charity) have asked FABED to join in and help to raise awareness internationally.

Many people diagnosed with an Eosinophilic disorder are on very restricted diets. Some end up on elemental diets, meaning they have to drink (or be fed via tube) a specialised formula. This is often their only source of nutrition, the feed itself is not pleasant!! more information is available from the FABED webiste ( www.fabed.co.uk)

Members of FABED are taking part on 20 May by having a "eat like your kids" day, sticking to their childs particular diet or feeding regime. As a father to 3 children with Eosinophilic disease (and a wife with colitis) i have decided to take it one step further.

My Eldest, Josh and middle child, Callum are tube fed and Callums' main source of nutrition is from Elemental EO28 formula. Rather than just one day i am going to live on elemental feed for the entire week. I had delayed putting up my page until i could be sure that i could drink the EO28, it really is that foul!! I will eat no solid food for the week, no cheating, Callum can't so why should I.

So please dig deep and donate now, FABED will use your money to help those suffering and their families to better understand this and bring families together to help each other.
