It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.

Story

I'm swimming in the Dart 10K event on sept 14th. This is a 10 km (6 mile) swim down the river Dart from Totness to Dittisham in Devon. I'm hoping to raise money for the Birmingham Children's Hospital. When my daughter was 18 months old, she was diagnosed with a nasty heart disease called Dilated Cardiomyopathy. Over the following couple of years she made a full recovery while being treated at BCH. She is now a healthy and happy 9 year old and we are very grateful to BCH for treating her so successfully

Now I'm an overweight 45 year old I need to look after my heart. I've always been quite good at swimming, more graceful in the water than on dry land! But 10km is a big challenge. Please help motivate me to get this thing done by contributing to this charity that improves and save children's lives.
