Duathalon of Etape du Tour and Matterhorn · 20 July 2009

O2e encourages and supports ordinary people to achieve extraordinary sporting and physical challenges. In so doing O2e aims to raise substantial sums of money to support terminally ill and disabled children and their families.

Story

So the time is nigh for another summer of stupidity all in the name of a good cause.

This year I shall attempt to haul myself up two very different bumps in the Alps. One with the aid of a bicycle and the other with no more than my feet, my hands and a good rope. Please take a peak at the 2 photos on the top of the sponsor page to get a feel.

The 20th of July sees the Etape du Tour starting in Motelimar and finishing on the summit of the lump of rock known as Mont Ventoux after 170km. The 8th and 9th of September sees Alistair and I attempting the Hornli Ridge on the Matterhorn which was the last of the major peaks to be successfully climbed in the alps. Please feel free to draw your own conclusions as to why that was.

So again the recipient of any cash you do donate is O2e. The work they do never ceases to amaze me and this year three kids charities are the worthy causes being championed by idiots like me doing things well outside their comfort zone. Please take 2 minutes and look through the site at www.o2e.org which I am sure will loosen your purse strings a little.

Thanks to you all

Steve
