My story

Updated on Jul 23rd 2012 at 5:53 PM from the JustGiving API

tackle sorted ptovisions in hand all we need now is the fish to feed when we start the challenge.

We are Kev Carter and Steve Wright, both firefighters from Williton fire station, Devon and Somerset FRS. From the 27th July 2012 to 3rd August2012 We have set out to catch 1000lb of fish in 7 days to raise funds for the Firefighters Charity. This is a tough target to meet but then thats part of the challenge. We are asking ALL fire stations across the UK to donate just £10.00 each for our efforts, this together with all the other sponsorship and donations will make a hugh difference to the lives of many firefighters and their dependents across the country who are in need of assistance.

We would both like to thank Town Parks Fishery in Paignton for their generous help in the organisation of this event. www.townparks.net

The Fire Fighters Charity

The Fire Fighters Charity

Charity Registration No. 1093387

Every 30 seconds in the UK fire fighters are called to an incident, risking their lives to save others, but sadly they often sustain physical injuries whilst carrying out their duties. The Fire Fighters Charity is here for fire fighters during their times of need. The Charity offers vital support services across the UK for all fire fighters, assisting in excess of 17,500 individuals every year. Our modern, dynamic and award-winning charity has three UK centres, located in Cumbria, Devon and West Sussex, which provide therapy, rehabilitation and recuperation facilities. Our pioneering Beneficiary Support Services offers local and remote assistance to fire service personnel in need nationwide – providing solutions to real life problems. It costs over £9 million every year to keep the Charity running, and with no government funding, we are completely reliant upon donations and fundraising, so your support is very much needed.
