<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.</p> <p>I work as a Missionary for Edinburgh City Mission. Behind the public face of one of the world's&nbsp; most picturesque citites lies a community of people who are hurting and crying out for care.....</p> <p>Part of that care&nbsp; is the initiative that I have the privilege to oversee. We offer food and care to people who are referred to us by a range of statutory and voluntary agencies. People come to us for a variety of reasons, temporary unemployment, bereavement, pendng benefit claim, addiction issues, and a variety of other circumstances.</p> <p>Last year, 2011, we had almost 400 new referrals and with the help of churches, schools and individuals who donate food, we were able to give away 24,000kgs of food.</p> <p>The need for our service has grown enormously and we are looking to set up 2 new "Basics Banks" in different parts of the city and need "seed money" to cover the set up costs. To raise the funds a group of us will be having a sponsored sleep out in Ednburgh, Feb 24th 2012.</p> <p>Can you help by donating whatever you can?</p> <p>Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
