BIG BIG thanks for visiting my fundraising page. On November 6th 2008 I'll be setting off on a saddle-sore 500kms bike ride from Saigon in Vietnam to the ancient Cambodian Temple at Angkor Wat. It is all in a very good cause so please dig deep and sponsor me - even if it's only enough for a large tub of Vaseline to ease the inevitable pain in my nether regions, every little helps! I am raising funds for The National Osteoporosis Society (NOS). Osteoporosis is a weakening of the bones which comes with ageing. It is a debilitating condition which leads to fractures and a general wasting of the skeletal frame. It affects one in two women and one in five men over the age of 50. It is also very painful - I know because my mother suffered from it for several years before her sad death in 2005. She was often in agony and unable to find respite from this condition. Money is needed to help ease the suffering of those afflicted, to fund much needed research into the causes and to find preventative solutions - that is why I have chosen this as my charity.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The National Osteoporosis Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support. Steve Alexander
