Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. Helping me and my dad (official supporter) to raise our part towards the TSUK world transplant sports team costs.
Steve Deakin M.B.E. UK transplant sport mens swimming captain for Australia 2009.
I am very proud to be the mens swimming captain and this has given me a special boost to give 110% in my training and attitude towards this event.
2007 took me to Edinburgh then on to the world games in Thai Land for the world games, winning two world bronze medals one in squash and the other 400mtrs freestyle.
2008 took me to Alcatraz escaping / swimming from the Rock to the bay in 25minutes 37seconds (shark infested ice cold water) I'm trying to build it up. Sheffield for the national transplant games winning five medals then on to swim the channel again with my transplant colleagues in 14hrs 15minutes.
Who knows what 2009 will bring. (I just cant wait)? I did wait and so far I have won the DWP Individual Respecting People award and the Permanent Secretary's Individual award for Excellence. I have also met her Majesty the Queen and been awarded the MBE in an unforgetable day at the Palace. I have completed the TSUK London to Brighton Bike ride and the Alder Hey Childrens Transplant Sports Teams Triathlon. My next challenge this year in June is to attempt the 1,000 drop zip wire challange from teh top of the Royal Liverpool Hospital.
