Story

Hello,

On the 7th April 2008, my girlfriend, Lucy Clarke, sadly passed away at the age of 24. Lucy had an illness called Pulmonary Hypertension. PH is is a rare lung disorder in which the blood pressure in the pulmonary artery rises far above normal levels, causing the heart to work a lot harder than usual. A PH sufferet commonly gets out of breath at climbing the stairs, tired a lot more easier than usual, and finds the cold incredibly difficult to deal with.

On the 28th November, I will be trekking up Britain's tallest Mountain, Ben Nevis, in an effort to raise money for the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA), the UK's only charity who deal with PH. The money goes towards helping treat PH, and one day, eventually curing this relativley unknown illness.

In February, Lucy had booked a two week stay in Scotland for my birthday, which we were due to go in June. Unfortunatley, she never got to take me there, so I've decided that I'll go to the top of Scotland, for her.

Any efforts in sponsoring me would be greatly appreciated, not only by me, but by all sufferers and all families effected by Pulmonary Hypertension.

Thank you,

Steve
