Everest Base Camp trek 2008 · 1 January 2008

Headlines Craniofacial Support UK provides practical support and information to people affected by craniosynostosis and other rare craniofacial conditions to help them overcome the physical, psychological and social impacts of living with these conditions.

Story

Hi, thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Next November I'm off to Nepal to attempt to climb to the base of Mount Everest. This will involve 14 days trekking from the eastern Nepalese village of Lukla to the Khumbu Ice Fall, the base of Mount Everest at about 17,600 feet, with a 9 hour trek over 16,000 feet on day 10!

I'll be putting in a great deal of preparation over the next few months to try and avoid the Acute Mountain Sickness I suffered from on Kilimanjaro in 2005. The highest point on this Everest trek is slightly lower than Kilimanjaro, and there are a couple of 'acclimatisation' days on the way up so I have high hopes of successfully completeing this gruelling challenge.

I'm paying personally for all of the costs in doing this trek, so all of your donation will go to Headlines!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Headlines Craniofacial Support will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support, Steve
