MARATHON UPDATE

A massive thank you to everyone who sponsored my marathon run. I have far exceeded my fund raising target and have been touched by your generosity and support.

Despite the heat I finished in a respectable 3 hours and 56 minutes and have now just about recovered from the aches and pains.

On New Year's Eve 2007 my wife gave birth to our identical twin girls, Rosie and Isla. They were born three and a half months prematurely.  Sadly, Rosie was too small and sick to survive. 

Isla weighed only 870 grams and could not breathe on her own.  She fought off 3 serious infections, had 4 blood transfusions and had to be resuscitated on several occasions.   She was in hospital for 3 months but finally came home a couple of weeks before her due date. 

Thanks to the amazing doctors and nurses at the Evelina Children's hospital she is now a happy, healthy one year old.
