My story

Call it a mid life crisis, new year madness or just plain stupidity but in January I decided that I wanted to do something that I hadnt done before and entered for the Great North Run (half marathon).  The most I had run was 6 miles and that was 20 years ago!  September seemed soooo far away in January but it's now just 6 weeks to go (gulp!).

I picked the MU Foundation as my chosen charity given my lifelong allegiance to United and the valuable work that they do in trying to improve the lives/prospects for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.  Non United fans please dont let the MU name put you off donating! Please consider a donation - whatever the size, many thanks.

Steven
Ps - I'll look to post some pictures of me looking suitably shattered and in pain if that helps the donations!

My updates 3

Well I completed the run in 2 hours 5 minutes and finished just over 18000 so certainly room for improvement. I ran all the way and really enjoyed the occasion. Amazing support from the crowds. Thanks again for your sponsorship

Well it is 2 days to go to the day. I have my last run tonight, a gentle 4 miles and then it is up to the Newcastle tomorrow ahead of the race on Sunday. Very very grateful for all who have sponsored me, my thanks goes to all of you.

Wow - I have had to increase my target amount after a day as a result of the generous donations to date. Many thanks to all who have sponsored me.
