All proceeds from our 'not giving Christmas cards' is restricted to the proposed Teenage Cancer Trust unit at Queens Centre for Oncology and Haematology which is scheduled to be open early 2011
Staff in the Queen’s Centre for Oncology and Haematology are hoping to raise money for the new Young Adults Unit by donating cash instead of buying Christmas cards.
The new unit, for 18 to 24 year olds, will include four beds, a kitchen, bathroom as well as a recreational space including a TV and the latest games consoles. Teenage Cancer Trust needs to raise over £150,000 todevelop this facility and expand services in the area for teenagers and young adults who have been diagnosed with cancer
Steve Oliver, Lead Manager for Oncology explains why .....
‘While Christmas cards are great to receive this money will go towards the longer term benefits for young people with cancer in this area.’
