Hi all and thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I have decided, with some encouragement, to do the Great North Run in September 09, for Macmillan cancer care, a charity I have been associated with for a couple of years through various fund raisng activiteis. This run is a personal challenge for anyone, never mind a run shy, 35 yr old, 17 stone prop forward with a liking for the odd beer or six. However, not being one to shirk away from a challenge I have decided to do this, not only for myself, but mainly to help macmillan support those facing the biggest challenge of thier own lives. 

Cancer affects all of us in one way or another, whether we live with it, or support a close friend or family member. It does not discriminate and can strike anyone of any age just like many of my family and friends who are supporting a cancer patient or have sadly passed away as a result of this disease. This run is for them and for all those unsung heroes at macmillan who give up thier time to support those in need. Without charities like Macmillan, more and more people would not get the help they so dearly need.

All I ask is for you to give what you can, no matter how small, to support this dedicated team at Macmillan.
