Saint Michael’s is the local hospice care charity ensuring people affected by terminal illness can access high quality, personalised care. We help thousands of local people each year and make no charge. Each year we must raise £7 million to provide our range of services.

Story

Well, we did it!

Six ladies, one 10 year old boy and a 40 year old 'bed' hurtled along the riverside, overtook up the hill (yes we really did overtake up Castle Ings), cruised down the High Street before screaching to a halt and queuing to get into the River Nidd! The days of rain meant it was unsafe to swim across the river so we pulled ourselves across the rather chilly river to the finish line.

Our running team was made up of staff and parents from Knaresborough St John's Primary School; Sarah Anderson, Hannah Clarke, Helen Everstead, Andrea Latimer, Sarah Staniforth and Nicky Treanor. Creative bed design 'team' lead by Anne Bullen.

Whilst we do this for 'fun', the major focus is on fundraising and this year we are raising money for Saint Michael's Hospice in Harrogate. The hospice exists to help people in the Harrogate district with terminal illness to live and die well.
