Story
St. Joseph's College in Darjeeling, India is one of India's oldest and best known school for boys.
Affectionately known as "North Point" to generations of alumni, the school has long been known for turning out well-rounded students who have excelled in all walks of life - both in India and beyond. North Point boasts alumni around the world who still carry with them the spirit of collegiality that was fostered during their school years. Alumni reunions, such as the one held in Thailand in 2003, have drawn Northpointers not only from Asia but from Australia, North America & Europe.
North Point has educated the sons of Kings, diplomats and the captains of industry. However, the school has made a concerted effort in recent years to reach out to the local population of Darjeeling and surrounding areas with a view to providing these children with access to an elite education. These efforts have been extremely rewarding as many of the local children have become top students and have been given an opportunity to fulfil their dreams on a world-wide scale.
Maintaining North Point's position as a top educational institution requires upgrading some of the school's facilities and providing many of the technological upgrades that have become expected in modern education. By achieving these goals, North Point hopes to continue to draw some of India's (and other countries') elite students and, thereby, allow the school to provide needy local children with opportunities they would, otherwise, not be able to afford.
Any contribution you can make to help North Point meet its goals and continue to be a cherished institution both within India and abroad, would be greatly appreciated.
