Story

A.M.D.G

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.

This year St Peter's Kubatana celebrates 40 years in existence. During that time they have seen much change and have been challenging the causes of poverty while nurturing excellent academic and vocational skills with some of the most oppressed and desperate people of Zimbabwe. This year the College also celebrates the return of the Jesuits after the management of the school was taken from them around ten years ago.

The school has 1,200 pupils studying at the High School. The area suffers from massive unemployment, and is one of the most destitute areas of the country.

Two teachers and two pupils (Laurence McKell, Paul Warrilow, George Warner and Haymon Sinapius) are raising funds for the provision of materials for the redevelopment of St Peter's Kubatana buildings and facilities: in particular a computer suite, a new sewage system and textbooks. These are the things that have been requested by the School. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Jesuit Missions will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor us now! Many thanks for your support. L.D.S.
