We send donated PCs across the world to reduce poverty and connect communities

Story

On 5th June 2009 four employees of Stopford Information Systems Ltd. will be undertaking the three peaks challenge in order to raise vital funds for the charity Computer Aid International.

Computer Aid International provides the highest-quality, professionally refurbished computers for reuse in education, health and not-for-profit organisations in developing countries. Computer Aid provide a free decommissioning service to businesses in the UK, refurbishing the decommissioned PC's to be sent out to less developed countries where the PC's can be put to good use.

Our challenge will entail climbing and descending the largest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within a twenty-four hour period. We will first be climbing Ben Nevis followed by Scafell Pike and finally Mount Snowdon. This will be an extremely tough challenge for all of us, especially as there is at least ten hours of driving between the three peaks, leaving us with just fourteen hours to complete all three ascents and descents.

Our planned schedule is as follows:

05/06/2009 @ 17:00 - Start the ascent of Ben Nevis from Achintee

05/06/2009 @ 20:00 - Reach summit of Ben Nevis (1,344 metres)

05/06/2009 @ 22:00 - Complete descent of Ben Nevis (10.25 miles total)

05/06/2009 @ 22:05 - Start drive to Scafell Pike

06/06/2009 @ 04:30 - Arrive at Wasdale Head,  to begin ascent of Scafell Pike

06/06/2009 @ 07:30 - Reach summit of Scafell Pike (978 metres)

06/06/2009 @ 08:30 - Complete descent of Scafell Pike (7.25 miles total)

06/06/2009 @ 08:35 - Start drive to Snowdon

06/06/2009 @ 13:30 - Arrive at Llanberis, to begin ascent of Snowdon

06/06/2009 @ 15:30 - Reach summit of Snowdon (1,085 metres)

06/06/2009 @ 17:00 - Complete descent of Snowdon (9 miles total)

06/06/2009 @ 17:15 - Eat recovery fry up in Pete's Eats
