Our personal message:

Please support us in St Oswald's House

We are supporting Face-Faw and ask for sponsorship. Face-Faw is really us, the students of Ampleforth, the concern of us to share in the struggles of those in need. We write to ask you to share in our concern to share.

We are supporting Face-Faw and ask for sponsorship.

Face-Faw has many aims.  We may help in any of these aims, but I mention three aims of Face-Faw, in Zanzibar, Romania and Ethiopia.

First, in Zanzibar Face-Faw supports the Francis Maria Libermann School, a school of the Diocese of Zanzibar, off the Est coast of Tanzania. Face-Faw sponsors 25 children, it has provided £2,000 of exercise books and £1,000 of pencils. At this moment two recent leavers of Ampleforth are helping in the school.

Second, we support orphans in Romania.  Two recent Amplefordians, Dominic McCann (O02) and Peter Sidgwick (C97), have been involved in creating charities to help, and we try to help them. Several leavers of 2007 helped there.

Thirdly, we support a school and the work of the nuns of the Missionary of Charity [nuns of Mother Theresa] helping the poor and dying in Ethiopia.  Over the past 9 months about 10 Amplefordians have helped here, and at this time about four more are planning to go there to help in the coming weeks.

Please help us.

In order to help, Face-Faw have planned Honour the 600. Honour the 600 is on 21 February 2008 - the whole school will read on the theme of honour for 10 hours, or 600 minutes.  Each House will read for 60 minutes.

We ask you to sponsor us in St Oswald's House [each House has a sponsorship page].

By using this site, you ensure support. It is totally secure and simple. Through Ampleforth Abbey, Face-Faw will receive this funds very fast. If you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your sponsorship at no cost to you.

Please help us in St Oswald's to help Face-Faw - and to help people in need in Romania, Zanzibar and Ethiopia.

Thank you,

The Boys of St.Oswald's House
