Story

A big hello from Jess Bogic, Radikha Chandrasingh, Jonny Dawson, Bethan Hadley, Hannah Harding, Harj Kaur, Laura Keogh, Kim Lavocah, Jenny Mackow, Daniel McGlynn, Kieren McHale, Mia O'Gorman, Chifundo Ntola, Lily Shutt, Zac Tyler, Imogen Walsh and from our staff members  Alex Hallam, Neil and Sarah Lockyer, Fliss and Seamus O'Looskan. Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.

On the 8th July 2008, our group of twenty one returned from a life-changing eleven days spent in Ghana. We had visited four schools, worked in two parishes and ran a sports day with the youth group of a local village. We were based in two areas - Kumasi and Obuasi and learnt so much about the people and culture of Ghana. The money we have already raised means that there is now a mechanised fresh water borehole serving one of the schools that we visited. We were also able to make a donation to fund the completion of a classroom that had been left partially built and had meant that there were over one hundred children in one classroom. We believe that this trip is just the beginning of 'Project Ghana' and have set ourselves our next fundraising target. With £10000 we can pay for a toilet block, a mechanised borehole and two classrooms for the very poorest school we spent time in. It is also important to be aware that just £35 pays for the education of a child for one school term.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is very efficient as we will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

This whole project has galvinised our sixth form. We have learnt so much from all the people that we met in Ghana and they have placed their hope in us. We are really trying to make a difference, and you can too. Please help!
