Virgin London Marathon 2012 · 22 April 2012 ·

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

On 22 April 2012, I will be running the London Marathon to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

Heart disease is the UK's biggest killer. In 2009, one in three of all deaths were caused by cardiovascular disease. It still causes over a quarter of all premature deaths in men.

One such premature death was that of my father, Raymond Street. He died as a result of heart disease when I was 19 weeks old.

This race is for him; I want to raise as much money as possible to support the wonderful research, medical care and support the British Heart Foundation provides to thousands of people in the UK, to hopefully ensure fewer children have a parent taken from them by this devastating illness. Any donation, no matter how small, can make a difference and will mean the world to me.

Thanks from the bottom of my heart,

Andy

Further information about the British Heart Foundation can be found on their website at http://www.bhf.org.uk/
