This time the strong boys (and girls) get an opportunity to
do something for charity which does not involve shuffling some ridiculous
distance. So not to be out done by these skinny marathon type, myself and
8 equally idiotic friends have decided to attempt a strength feat for Sports
Relief. The challenge we are embarking on is to attempt to deadlift 1,000,000
(yes 1 million) kilo's off the floor in 8 hours.
So to put this into context, 1,000,000 kilo's is like lifting a million bags of
sugar. If that does not sound too bad, then it’s the equivalent of
lifting 3 Boeing 747 planes off the floor...in 8 hours. Each person will be lifting at least 100,000
kilo’s each with the remaining be completed by a number of other people
(current and ex athletes or basically anyone who can lend a hand!) who will be
helping throughout the day.
The big day is Saturday 20th March 2010 starting around 11am. We are hoping to be finished before 7pm.
The guys and I would really appreciate any donation you can
spare to support the challenge and ultimately Sports Relief. Sport Relief helps those less fortunate that
us from home and abroad. Thank you in
advance for your support.
