+++++STOP PRESS++++

Challenge completed at 20.43 on St Swithun's Day as the 4 Fat Directors crawled into Farnham bloodied but unbowed.

We had set out from Winchester Cathedral at 05.28, 15 1/4 hours earlier with a spring in the step, but a hot day, a dodgy map & countless wrong turns took a heavy toll on our spirits. Only our esprit de corp and all the people who had given us money kept us going.

Many thanks to all of you from the Fat Directors & the Jennifer Trust.

The corpulent capitalists are on the road again to hurt our bodies for good causes. In the last few years we've fought the flab, conquered the 3 Peaks & made short work of the 76 mile Ridgeway. Not a bad effort for 1 bald & 3 fat Michael Page directors whose usual 'exercise' involves shovelling Scampi Fries into our mouths with one hand while clinging to a pint of Badger Best in the other.

So what about 2011. How to top it? As family men we've always been well supported in our endeavours by our loved ones, but there has been a suspicion from some corners (of Herts?) that this is just a glorified stag do. To counter this we have decided to limit our activities to one day...and so the chat became about how far we could walk in one go. 25 miles? Easy. 30 miles? No problem. 35 miles? That'll do you.

And so to a series of coincidences...where can we do 35 miles in one day?...St Swithun's Way between Winchester & Farnham...we'll need lots of daylight to complete it...let's do it in July....Friday 15th is St Swithun's Day...destiny!

And so to the good cause. We'll be fundraising for The Jennifer Trust which raises money for children & adults affected by Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). SMA is a, fortunately quite uncommon, condition affecting the development of muscles around the spine & a friend's little boy has recently been diagnosed with Type II SMA. The Jennifer Trust have been incredibly supportive to her family, and to many other parents & children affected by this terrible condition. There really isn't a better cause for us to be raising money for.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
