We are running in the 2010 London Marathon and are hoping to raise some money for the Cancer Research Fund. Having spend two years trying to get a place now is our chance to run, and your chance to make a difference in the research and fight against cancer!

 

The Cancer Research Fund awards pump-priming grants to cancer researchers to buy laboratory consumables or small pieces of equipment. These grants give young researchers the opportunity to work towards the crucial preliminary results that will enable them to gain larger project grants from the major medical research funding bodies. The results of this type of research can have national and international implications in the fight against cancer, but progress with prevention, causation and treatment of the vast numbers of cancers can only continue by supporting those researchers with the knowledge and skill. We are hoping that our contribution will allow this valuable research to continue and help to develop future preventions and treatments for many different cancers.
