Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page,

I am delighted to be running the 2011 London Marathon.

This will be the second time I’ve run a marathon, the other being the 1983 London Marathon (some 28 years ago!).

I’d love to beat my time of 4hrs 26mins, but realistically, if I finish inside 5hrs I should be very happy.

Having been a fan of Queen since the 70s I’ve decided to support the Mercury Phoenix Trust with my run. They’ve been doing some tremendous work in the fight against HIV/AIDS since Freddie’s death 20 years ago.

So please give generously and help this very worthwhile cause.

THANK YOU - and don’t forget the Gift Aid box to get that tax relief added!!!

Here’s a final thought…back in 1983 event was sponsored by Gillette who provided the runners with freebie razors and deodorants etc. Since then the event has been sponsored by Mars (confectionary), Flora (spread – how did that one work???) and now I’m really looking forward to it being sponsored by Virgin (gulp!).
