Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

We are aiming to canoe from Llangollen,in North Wales,to High Lane,in Stockport. The distance is just under a 100 miles and we are aiming to complete the task in 4/5 days.We will be camping out at night so there will be no frills on this trip!  The reason for choosing this charity is simply because my son was diagnosed with the illness a couple of weeks after his 4th birthday(he is now 9) Where as there is still hope of finding a cure in his lifetime, in reality your donations will be going to help the next generation of kids.As a little extra ...anybody donating will be entered into a draw to win a signed ball by the Sale sharks rugby team, and if logistics of the winner of the ball allows, the ball can be handed over by Briggsy!!  For anybody who does not know Briggsy he is a 1st team rugby player with Sale Sharks.

But from my time spent with Neil i can so honestly say he is one of the most genuine and "top guys" i have been lucky enough to meet and hopefully be able to call a friend. Then put that with doing this trip with somebody who is bigger than Beckham in my house (he is James's sporting hero)and you may understand why this is so great to be doing .

If you are not affected by Diabetes just think of it as helping two people who are giving up a week of their time for a great cause!

So please sponsor us now!
