Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Yes I really am going for it - I don't believe it either. If you'd like to give (and believe me I need the encouragement) please follow instructions below. As you may know I worked for USPG at the College of the Ascension, and really valued the experience; this is my chance to give a little back. We are raising money for St Francis Hospital, Zambia. Its now March 21st and today I ran my futhest distance so far - 20 miles in 3 hrs 15mins. I still think 26 miles is a ridiculously long way - but maybe I could just walk the last bit
Seriously though I'm beginning to wonder how I could walk back from the finish line to the tube!!
April Fools Day, 24 Days to go..... and I have very mixed emotions now. The consensus of opinion says that to run a marathon one should run for 3hrs or 20+ miles three weeks or so from the event and then taper off the running allowing your body to heal and take on the carbs ready for the big day. Last Saturday I ran 22 in 3hrs 30min; I cannot tell you what a relief that is. All I have to do now is run the marathon!!!!!!!
St Francis Hospital, Katete , Zambia - Project 129
St Francis‘Hospital is the only source of Healthcare for a large rural population in Eastern Zambia. USPG Mission Companion Shelagh Parkinson, Director of the Hospital started a HIV clinic offering Antiretroviral Therapy in 2002. Now treatment is free, over 7500 patients have been enrolled in the programme with almost 4500 patients on ARV’s. The clinic is now open 5 days a week with regular visits to 10 satellite clinics and by motorbike to remote clinics. This is having an amazing impact on the lives of patients. Many would have died if ARV’s were not available. ARV’s doing more than keep people alive - many patients are able to return to work and live a normal life. Support this life giving work.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: USPG:Anglicans in World Mission gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Thank you for your support
