Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm running the Edinburgh Marathon on 29 May 2022, whilst raising money for SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health).
I've struggled with mental health through struggling to cope with demand and stress/pressure of work/life and at my lowest points has made me feel, 'why am I doing this?' 'What is the point?'
I believe everyone will struggle with mental health at some point in there lives and it's really important that everyone is aware that there ishelp and resources out there to assist people and get them through this tough period in there lives and help them cope as they progress throughout there life.
SAMH works with young persons and adults and also work though schools and further education as well. I feel this is extremely important and the more we make our young people aware as well as adults it will help provide a better future for everyone.
I've also learned a lot more about mental health at University and before doing my course I felt I was on my own at times but have realised that mental health really can affect anyone and through doing this I hope to help people who are struggling know they are not alone and asking for help is the strongest thing they can do. I also hope to raise awareness and increase understanding for people who maybe don't understand why people might be struggling and to be more empathetic towards someone that they see is struggling because even the smallest help or hello can help save a life.
Please if you can help me by donating to my page. No amount is too small and it will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
