Story

On April 28th I will be attempting to run the 58th Annual 3 Peaks Race ( http://www.threepeaksrace.org.uk/index.html ). It will, without doubt be the toughest physical challenge for me thus far. Over 24 miles in distance with over 1608 metres of accent/descent, timed checkpoints and partial navigation required.

I am still carrying foot injuries so training is difficult, but I hope to draw attnetion to the Jim Cronin Memorial Fund ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Cronin ) which helps provide a home and safety for rescued primates from around at Monkey World in Dorset, UK. These monkeys will have experiences that will completely eclipse my foot pains due to their exploitation e.g experimentation, smuggling, etc. Whilst I am strongly against animal captivity, I make the exception with this rescue centre as it is the animals only chance of some quality of life.

I was inspired and drawn to the primate cause through the documentary 'Project Nim' which I cannot recommend highly enough ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxQap9AAPOs ). The makers of this film made a donation to a primate sanctuary in the United States and could possibly make another donation if they make good sales from their DVD which is £8 from Asda (UK) online (last I checked this was cheapest).

I realise times are not easy for most people currently, but ask that if you could spare just a small donation to The Jim Cronin Memorial Fund it will be received most gratefully. All monies will be going direct to this fund, I require nothing for my travel, accomodation, entry fee's, etc.

Thank you.
