On 22 April 2007, the day of the last London Marathon, we lost a good friend Stuart Burke to Epilepsy (sudep).

Stu was a keen runner, and had often talked about wanting to run the London Marathon. He won't get a chance now, and so we’re going to run it for him – probably not as quickly as Stu would have done, but in his memory.

We’re also raising funds for a charity who work hard to offer help and support to epilepsy sufferers – and this is where we need your help!

There are three of us running – none of us are what you would describe as athletes, but over the winter months we’ll all be out pounding the cold, wet streets of Preston, hoping to build up enough fitness to get around the 26.2 miles in one piece!

While we may be sadly lacking in fitness, we do have a belly full of determination, and a great bunch of friends and family behind us – your support is so important, and so much appreciated.

There's more pictures and regular updates on the Stu Burke Memory Blog - you can also check up on our training, and send us messages there too!

All we ask of you, our generous sponsor, is to pledge us whatever you feel you can spare towards out new goal of £10,000

We can promise that the blood, sweat and tears we’re putting in are well worth it. We’ll even get you some before and after photo’s to prove how scared / bedraggled we look on the day!

Make sure you tick the Gift Aid box, as that adds a bit more to the charity’s coffers from our beloved HMRC.

We can confidently say that none of us will be challenging Haile Gebrselassie’s record time of 2 hours, 4 minutes and 26 seconds, our goals are simply to cross the finish line, honour Stu’s memory, and raise a bunch of money.

** LATEST NEWS ** we've got all confident, and increased our fundraising target to £10,000. And we need you to help us get there!!

There's lots of updates, stories, photos and stuff on the blog at  www.stuburkememory.co.uk, and there's even a Facebook group too!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! WE NEED IT!

Just so you know, donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Epilepsy Action will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So just do it!
