Story
56 minutes 37 seconds !
Despite a lack of training due to (a crippling knee) injury I managed to finish in under 1 hour. More importantly, I reached my fund raising target of £500. Thanks to everyone who sponsored me.
Following in the footsteps of my brother Dave who ran the Great North Run and my girlfriend Victoria who jumped off the Transporter Bridge in Middlesbrough, I wanted to give something back to the Anthony Nolan Trust who helped save the life of my sister-in-law last year.
I had never ran this far before in my life despite the fact I live in trainers and look like a whippet.
It's not too late to sponsor me now -
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Anthony Nolan Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for all your support - especially Victoria, my beautiful, brilliant girlfriend whose encouraging words spurred me on.
I'll be uploading a race-day picture shortly for all the skeptics and voyeurs !
