Student Nurses Climb to Raise Money for York Teaching Hospital Charity · 13 January 2014

York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity raises funds to help make a positive difference in your local hospital - making patients, relatives and visitors feel better and providing a level of care that is beyond that which NHS funding alone could deliver.

Story

Hi we are Casey, Sarah, Rebecca, Steph, Jess, Helen, Claire, Ali, Megan, Shauna and Rebecca. We are a passionate group of 11 third year student nurses studying at the University of York. Our aim is to raise money for the York Teaching Hospital Charity. We have chosen this charity as we have all benefited from our clinical placements in York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and would like to support the work it does in providing care to the community by raising money which will go towards the areas that need it most.

We aim to raise money by completing a simulated collective climb amounting to the distance of the UK’s three highest peaks. We will achieve this distance using a combination of climbing walls and problem solving and orienteering challenges, instructed and supported by students at Askham Bryan College. The climb takes place on 13th January and we aim to raise at least £500, dig deep and give generously to your nurses!

Thank you! :)
