We provide advice and support to anyone facing a mental health problem

Story

I’ve wanted to travel for some time, but this is the first real opportunity I’ve had to explore the world in the way that I want to. I will be travelling to the USA to cycle wherever I feel and to experience whatever occurs. An experience like this can be used for good causes and I wish for those who follow my progress to support me by supporting my friends and all those affected by depression.

Depression seems to be more prevalent than many think. In mid 2010 one of my best friends attempted suicide. At the end of 2010 a best friend committed suicide. In 2011 a close relative attempted suicide. These are the most recent examples of depression affecting my life in the most painful way but I am by no means the only person affected by situations like this.

I envisage very difficult times ahead on my adventure and supporting my friends through The Depression Alliance will play a massive part in my motivation. Your donations will contribute towards vital support to those suffering from and those affected by depression.

Follow my adventures on the blog and donate now to help those in need and maintain my motivation and sanity.

In August 2016, Depression Alliance merged with Mind, the mental health charity. We believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Money you donate here will be used exclusively for services previously run by Depression Alliance, e.g. Friends in Need.
