My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Wainwright's Coast to Coast is a 192 (some would say 200) mile roller-coaster walk from St. Bees to Robin Hood's Bay with a route that offers 'alternatives and options', depending on the weather / visibility, and it passes through three national parks. We've chosen to do it in fifteen days.

Tony and I love walking and we've had some great days out in The Lakes, The Dales, The Peak District, and The Trough of Bowland but we have always wanted to do a long distance walk so this will be the holiday of a lifetime for us. And there are many other walks we would like the opportunity to do; The Dales Way, Hadrians Wall, The Ribble Way. Luckily we live on the Pennine Way.

In the last few years my Mum, Dad, Aunt, Brother and Sister-in-Law have all died from cancer, and a sister was treated for cancer last year, and it makes you realise that if you want to do something, go do it, now! So it's all booked up, B&B's not tent, and in the freedom of the grand outdoors I will think of my loved ones.

When my family needed someone to hold our hand and understand the local Hospice were wonderful. Overgate is my local Hospice. By donating to them in support of our challenge you will be helping us to have a fantastic time, and encouraging us to deal with those blisters.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
