Ultra Tour of the Lake District 50 · 24 July 2010
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The race is now run - I was 2nd woman to finish in a time of 10:41 - nearly 1 1/2 hours faster than last year! I lost 2 toenails in the process but can still just about get up and down the stairs! Thanks to all of you who have sponsored me already. It's not too late to add your name to the list, but I'm afriad that the bubbly has gone to Ron and Lindsay whose guess was only a few minutes out. They had more confidence in me than I did!
At 12 midday on Saturday 24th July I'll be setting off from the Dalmain Estate, in the North Eastern Lake District to run the Lakeland 50 (or UTLD50). Around 12 hours (hopefully a bit less!) later, I will arrive in Coniston having covered a good proportion of the Eastern Fells and made about 3100m of ascent.
I'm doing this in recognition of all those wonderful soldiers who risk life and limb 'just doing their job'. I'm hoping to raise about £1000 for The Soldier's Charity. (Formerly the Army Benevolent Fund).
To make things a little bit more interesting, I have a couple of bottles of bubbly that will go to the 'donator' who makes the closest 'guesstimate' for my time, so don't forget to include this (in hours, minutes and seconds!)
