English Channel Swim · 3 December 2013

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

In August 2014 I will be swimming the English Channel to raise money for Aspire. As part of a relay team I will be enduring cold water, sea sickness and the busiest shipping lane in the world to swim from Dover to France.

After completing marathons, triathlons and climbing Kilimanjaro this will be  the hardest challenge I have attempted. But it will be nothing compared to the challenges faced everyday by people with spinal cord injuries.

With your support I know I will not only be able to get to France but will be helping Aspire continue their very important work.

Keep up with how my training is going on Twitter @ChannelSwimSue
