On the 13th July we will be competing in Ironman Switzerland, a triathlon which consists of a 3.8 km swim, 180 km bike and 42.2 km (Marathon) run.
To get ready for this epic event we have been doing a bit of training! Here is an overview of the number of hours we have been doing this year in preparation;
Jan - 30 hrs 20 mins
Feb - 42 hrs 35 mins
March - 52 hrs 14 mins
April - 46 hrs 09 mins
May - 60 hrs 30 mins
June - 43 hrs 48 mins
Total - 274 hrs 56 mins
Seeing the Air Ambulance in action attending a nasty looking car/cyclist collision today on our training ride, I was quite shocked to find out that such a valuable service receives no Government, NHS or National Lottery funding. Its operation depends entirely upon individual donations and fundraising.
So please donate! Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Kent Air Ambulance Trust gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
