News update - Andrew swam the 2.2k between the piers, new photos added.
On 25th September Sue and Rob will be running the Hursley 10K near Winchester in memory of our son and brother Tom, who sadly died on 17th July 2011.
Sue and Robert will be raising funds for the Tall Ships Youth Trust, to enable a young person from a deprived area to experience sailing and life at sea. This charity gives young people of all backgrounds the opportunity to get out on the water, to interact, develop team working skills, improve self esteen and self confidence, and generally encourages a healthy and active lifestyle.
Tom grew up by the sea and spent all his teenage years sailing and racing at Broadstairs with friends.
At 18 he took part in the Tall Ships Race spending three weeks on board Arethusa and enjoying it immensely, being part of the crew.
His next big adventure was racing across the Atlantic from the Canaries to St. Lucia aboard White Knuckles, a race they won.
Teaching sailing for PGL in England and France was then followed by 2 seasons at Menorca Sailing, where, as well as being a sailing instructor he enjoyed windsurfing on his days off.
Tom has had endless fun sailing, surfing and windsurfing with friends, and his last trip was sailing Koluka back across the Atlantic a few months ago.
Andrew will be swimming 2.2km between Bournemouth and Boscombe piers on Sunday 4th September, and would like any donations for his wet effort to be included in Sue and Robert's Page.
Some key facts about the charity:

Diversity - encourages a broad mix of young people from all socio-economic, cultural, ethnic and faith backgrounds to interact and learn from one another.
