Story

Hello

Those of you who know me will know that I, together with Boycie & Rachael, have foolishly signed up for that Dublin Marathon thing.  We have been training religiously for the last few months and my target time for those 26.2 miles is 4 hrs 30 mins.

My inspiration to run this marathon is my best friend's niece, Erin Hamilton, seen here, who has recently been given the all clear after two years of treatment for Leukaemia.  Erin received regular care from the Ellenor Hospice, she had her own nurse visiting her at home to check her bloods every week, as well as having a 24 hour call service to help with medical emergencies.  The Hospice also gave fantastic emotional support to Erin's brother, Dylan, and the whole family.  I now want to raise money on Erin's behalf to say thank you to the Hospice from all of her family and friends for helping her through such a terrible time, and also to help them to continue their brilliant work in helping other special children like Erin.

If you would like to sponsor me, donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Ellenor and Lions Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

If you would like to sponsor me but would prefer to pay by cheque please email me (sue-winstanley@hotmail.co.uk) and I will give you the address.

Our training has been aided by our personal coach, Peter Head, who has given us support, advice, training schedule and above all, he comes out running with us, just because he wants to and all for nothing (and to make sure we're sticking to the schedule I'm sure!).  He assures us we can do this.  So, please, sponsor me if you can.

Sue xx
