We are fighting to make a world where diabetes does no harm

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page.

We are raising money for Diabetes UK in memory of Lisa Day, who sadly passed away on the 12th September 2015 due to a case of severe Diabetic ketoacidosis – a fatal complication if not treated urgently. Lisa was only 27 when she died, there are so many things that she didn't get to do in life. We want to make sure something positive comes out of such a sad situation and to make sure that her legacy lives on.

Donating your hard earned cash to this wonderful charity will mean they can continue to fund new research and one day help find a cure – which is the ultimate dream. Alongside the drug trials they also run care events for young newly diagnosed diabetics and their family’s. It gives the opportunity for children, young people, adults and families affected by Type 1 diabetes to meet others, share similar experiences and learn from each other. For more information on the care events please visit: https://www.diabetes.org.uk/How_we_help/Care-events/

On the 8th of May at 6am, we are taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge, which involves climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon - the highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales all in 24 hours.........

The team consists of 23 climbers and 4 drivers: Brian Day, Katie Edwards, Mark Campbell, Sylvie Bonevova, Chris Sawyers, Lee Sanders, Mark Sawyers, Joe Reddington, James Page, Graham Edwards, Matthew Edwards, Jennifer Junemann, Seb Junemann, Pete Moran, Lesley Vye, Jake Dennis, Steve Mines,Freddie Hutchins, Derek Slade, Rose Saunders, Richard Slade, Rosemarie Mc Ardle, Paul Campbell, Sarah Beaumont, James Kimberley, Edward Hayes and Liz Slade.

The training has started, and the full realisation of what we have to do is sinking in. We will be taking GoPros with us so an epic challenge video will follow.

Any amount is greatly appreciated, even if its just a £1.Thank you so much for your support !

Love team 'Sugar Hill Gang' xxxx
