"It's not what you can't do, but what you can that counts."

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.

The Kielder centre of the Calvert Trust was founded in response to the barriers placed by society in the path of people with disabilities. It was designed to provide a secure but challenging environment for adults and children with disabilities in a countryside location. Over 5,000 guests visit the centre each year and can take part in activities such as sailing, climbing, canoeing, abseiling and swimming that they would otherwise miss out on. The benefits the guests receive include growth in self-confidence, a sense of personal achievement and fulfilment, increased interpersonal and social skills, as well as the practical skills required to be able to participate in these activities. These outcomes spill over into daily life acting as a catalyst for change and growth.

Please help others to benefit from this wonderful facility and donate on-line now.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Calvert Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
