Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In April this year, through my role as the Community Director of the Doncaster Rovers Viking Supporter's Co-Operative, I met a hero of mine, ex-Rovers player Ian Duerden, and his family. We were trying to raise some money for his son Oliver, who suffers from a very rare genetic condition and needed a specially adapted wheelchair to aid his development. Since then, I have kept in touch with Ian and his wife Caroline and I'm now hoping to raise some money for Oliver's school, who are fundraising to build a hydrotherapy pool to aid all their students.

The challenge I have set myself is the Sundowner Middle Distance Triathlon - in other words, a half ironman. This involves a 1.9km (1.2 mile) open water swim, 90km (56 mile) bike ride, then a 21km (13 mile) run to finish off. I only took up triathlons earlier in the summer on a bit of a whim so you can appreciate this could prove difficult!
