Taking part in the London marathon is undoubtedly one of the proudest moments in my life- and completing it was just incredible! Two things really kept me going, especially after mile 19: the unreal crowds and the shouts from strangers and loved ones alike, and knowing you had all supported me and I had to get through it for you, and for the charity...

It was for a great cause- young athletes. People like Greg Rutherford and Robbie Grabarz, who won Team GB medals in the Olympics, have already benefited from the support of the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund, but there are increasing numbers of promising young athletes who need support to train and improve to the standards they aspire to. The Fund is dedicated to assisting aspiring young athletes who have shown by their attitude and dedication that they possess the qualities which will ensure the growth and protection of sport.
