WELOME and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, where I am aiming to raise money to support the work of Christian Solidarity Worldwide.
Twenty one years ago, on September 27th 1988, I became a Christian.
I received Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and surrendered my life to the
authority and sovereignty of God. That decision was the best I ever
made, and I am so grateful for the goodness of God I have experienced
over the last twenty one years. God is good! Life is good!
Yet for many Christians around the world, life is not so good. In too many parts of the world, Christians are subjected to arrest, abuse, torture, imprisonment, and death...all because they are followers of Jesus Christ.
Christian Solidarity Worldwide
exists to support and campaign for the persecuted Church and to work
for religious freedom and liberty across the globe. Their work means
that the suffering of persecuted Christians does not go unnoticed and
that those who suffer receive the compassionate support of their
brothers and sisters in the 'free' world.
How can we help the work of Christian Solidarity Worldwide?
Well, I am sure it has not escaped your notice that I AM FAT!
Lets be honest and open about this - I am a bit of a porker, indeed I
am technically obese, which is a situation I need to change.
So, I want to lose weight, but we all know that losing weight is
really difficult without support, encouragement, and accountability.
You can encourage me by making a donation on this page. As I shed the
pounds(lbs), I hope to raise some pounds(£) for the work of Christian Solidarity Worldwide.
My initial aim is to lose 1 stone by Christmas 2009 (I know you are
thinking I need to lose more than that - fair point!). A stone by
Christmas is achieveable and will be be a starting point for more
progress later. I will give regular updates, with weigh-in figures so that you can keep track of where I am up to and how much I have lost.
Please support me and the work of Christian Solidarity Worldwide - together we can show the persecuted Church that we hear its cry and care about its plight.
Thanks again for stopping by...God Bless...I'm off for a biscuit...I mean a jog!
