My story
H.E.A.R.T UK - The Cholesterol Charity - is delighted to be one of the Official Charities for the Flora London Marathon 2008!
Please help us to reach our target of £1,000,000 from this once in a lifetime opportunity!
Our team of runners - Teamredlaces - will be painting the town red to raise vital funds and essential awareness of inherited high cholesterol (IHC) which affects one person in every 100 and can kill fit young people in their 20s, 30s and 40s, suddenly and without warning. IHC can cause early cardiovascular disease, heart attack, stroke and premature death. By sponsoring Teamredlaces you will be helping us to:
Support those families already diagnosed
Raise awareness of the risks of inherited high cholesterol
Lobby for better detection of those at risk
Fund vital research into improved treatment
Support health professional training
Our redlaces are useful and eye catching and can be worn in any shoes, whether for sports, work or hobbies. Please wear redlaces and help to spread the message about the dangers of inherited high cholesterol and the importance of a healthy heart.
