Suranne Jones treks the Great Wall of China · 8 May 2010
Hello and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
I am walking the for The Fire Fighters Charity. I met the family of a fire fighter (Steve) who had received 50% burns after he was engulfed in a fire ball whilst attempting to rescue a family from a burning house in . He has had to give up work and receives care and rehabilitation from The Fire Fighters Charity. It costs nine million pound to run and the Charity receives no government funding.
Like all fire fighters - Steve is a man who risked his own life to try and help others.
I asked the Charity to throw me a challenge and they suggested walking the great wall of china to help raise the profile of the Charity in addition to raising funds. So I took up the gauntlet!
I would love to hear from any corporates that would be happy to sponsor me, so please get in touch via the Charity if you are interested (awhite@firefighterscharity.org.uk)! But any donation counts and all money raised is used to help injured fire fighters via theraphy and rehabilitation. Please dig deep and donate!
