To spur us on our way we have decided to raise money for Surrey Sands, a charity that supports parents whose baby dies during pregnancy, at or shortly after birth. Every single day in the UK 17 babies are stillborn or die shortly after birth, the equivalent of 16 jumbo jets crashing every year with no survivors.
A few of us know people affected by the death of a baby in these circumstances so we would really appreciate your support to encourage us on our way.
Surrey Sands have recently created a brand new Forget-Me-Not Bereavement Suite at Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford and are aiming to achieve similar facilities in other hospitals in Surrey. For more information, please visit their website at www.surrey-sands.org.uk .
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it's the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
All monies donated will go to Surrey Sands in aid of the Hospital Support Project. The Gift Aid element will be retained by National Sands to support their work, which includes research into the causes of stillbirth.
Any donation will be gratefully received so please give what you can to help this worthy cause. Thank you.
