Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Well Saturday came and went . It must have been one of the most memorable days of my life for all the wrong reasons .......!

I arrived well on time ,excited and looking forward to my day, filled in and handed over forms, went to the briefing room and then it all went wrong. You are asked to have reasonable use of your arms and legs which I think I still have but when asked to lie on my front and bend my legs up my left (weak) leg didn't want to. I could sit and bend my legs up but that wasn't enough to let me jump. If I had had more information on what was required I might have saved myself the major disapointment of the day :-(

I am so sorry to not have compleated my challenge but I hope to do something just as daft in the future to earn the very generous sponsorship money and support everyone has given to me and my charity Revive.

Obviously no further sponsorship please

Thank you all.

Am I mad, don’t know what came over me perhaps an “ I can do that “ , “ what the Hell “ or a” life’s too short “ moment!

I will be throwing myself out of an aeroplane 10,000 feet above terra firma on Saturday the 7th of May. Why would she want to do that I hear you ask, I shall explain as I am the world’s biggest woose so this is a big thing for me!

In 1997 I was diagnosed with MS although lived in denial for many years, as so many people do, with only family and close friends knowing the truth. I put the monster in a “box” , in my heart I new it was always there. Things have become more obvious over the last few years and as a result I have become more able to accept how things are. This has enabled me to let the monster out its box.

Having had some help from mainstream medical avenues I decided to find out more about what other treatments were available for people with MS. A friend told me about Revive MS support in Glasgow, a charity that offers a friendly place with a plethora of professional people with alternative treatments aimed at MS patients. Classes in Yoga, Pilates, aromatherapy, reflexology, physio therapy, MS counsellor and lots more, make this centre a fantastic place to get help and advice. It is a wonderful facility which relies on donations and fund raising. I am going to do my little bit and hope you will support me by sponsoring my leap of faith on the 7th.

Thank you all x

Some facts

Scotland has the highest prevalence of any country in the world with 10,000 people affected with the condition. There is no cure for MS, which is the most common disabling neurological condition affecting young adults the cause of which remain a mystery. The disease affects the central nervous system resulting in a range debilitating symptoms.
